Doctor Salvador Anchondo Zubirán

Dr. Salvador Zubirán Anchondo, Cusihuiriachic born in Chihuahua, on December 23, 1898. He died on June 10, 1998, months before his 100th años.
  His parents were Joseph and Mary Mary Zubirán Anchondo. He attended preparatory and professionals at the National University of Mexico, then autonomous, and obtained from the School of Medicine of the same, his medical degree on April 3, 1923. His thesis was on the vagotomy professional. He did graduate work at Harvard University in 1924 and 1925.

Some of his teachers were the activities of therapeutic professor at the National School of Medicine (1925-1927), professor of medical propaedeutic Clinic at the National School of Medicine (1928-1933), Professor of Clinical Medicine at the National School of Medicine (1934-1945), professor at the Graduate Education in the Faculty of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1946-1966), and from 1967 onwards professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Among the public offices he held, include the Head of the Department of Foodstuff and Beverage Department of Public Health (1931-1934), Member of the Committee for the Study of the Presidency of the Republic (1935-1937), Head of Contract Social Assistance and Child (1937), Office Manager of the Department of Public Welfare (1938-1939), Secretary of Public Welfare (1940-1943), Member of the Board of the National Institute of Cardiology (1943 to present), Director National Institute of Nutrition was the creator (1946-1980), Rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1946-1948), member of the Board Member of the Government of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (1958-1962); member of the General Health Council (1964-1980), Executive Member of the National Food program of the National Council of Science and Technology (1970-1982), Advisor to the Secretary of Health and Welfare (1983-1988), Patron of the National Vocal Monte de Piedad (1983-1991), director Emeritus of the General Health Council (1983-1988), and director Emeritus of the National Institute of Nutrition Salvador Zubirán (1980 to present). The life of Dr. Salvador Zubirán Anchondo was characterized by ongoing commitment to service and love for his profession, unflagging commitment and absolute dedication to public service has played. It is worth noting that, in his words, he feels as his greatest work, which proudly lives as the most precious fruit of their profession.
